Careers

Build a Career Inside Real Transactions.

Krea is a boutique M&A practice in Northern California. We hire people who want to do the work, on live deals with real business owners, not review decks from the sidelines.

The Opportunity

Krea is a founder-led M&A practice. You'll work directly with me on live transactions, learning how businesses are valued, positioned, marketed, negotiated, and sold. If you're looking for a highly structured corporate environment, this probably isn't the right fit. If you're looking for responsibility, exposure, and a chance to grow quickly, let's talk.

Open Role

M&A Deal Manager (Full Cycle: Origination to Close)

  • Mergers & Acquisitions
  • Full-Time or Fractional
  • California (Local / Remote)
  • Performance-Driven

What You'll Own

  • Deal Origination. Identify, qualify, and develop new transaction opportunities across target industries (SaaS, Manufacturing, Construction, Medical Devices, A&D, Semiconductor, Wholesale & Distribution).
  • Financial Analysis & Valuation. Analyze financial statements, build valuation models, and assess deal viability.
  • Confidential Information Memorandums (CIMs). Develop positioning materials that tell the right story to the right buyers.
  • Buyer Engagement. Lead outreach to qualified buyers, manage communications, and drive interest through the pipeline.
  • Due Diligence & Execution. Support the transaction process from LOI through close, coordinating across buyers, sellers, and advisors.
  • Systems & Process. Help build and improve internal systems for deal sourcing, tracking, and execution.

Who This Role Is For

You bring 3 to 10 years of professional experience, in finance, operations, consulting, business development, or a related field, and you are looking for something more direct. More real. You are a strong fit if you:

  • Understand financial statements and can work through a valuation without hand-holding.
  • Have exposure to valuation methods (DCF, comparables, market-based approaches).
  • Think like an operator: you want to know how businesses actually work, not just how they look on paper.
  • Are curious about Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA), or have considered buying or building a business yourself.
  • Are comfortable with ambiguity, learning new tools, and building processes from scratch.

This Role Is Probably Not for You If

  • You need a highly structured corporate environment.
  • You prefer narrowly defined responsibilities.
  • You're uncomfortable speaking directly with business owners.
  • You want predictable advancement based on tenure.

Strong Plus

  • A California DRE license, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, agentic AI and modern automation tools used in deal workflows.
  • Prior exposure to M&A, transaction advisory, or business brokerage.

Compensation

Compensation is heavily performance-based, with meaningful upside tied to completed transactions. The exact structure depends on your experience, availability, and the scope of responsibilities you take on.

  • Earnings are built through pipeline development and participation in deal outcomes.
  • The structure rewards results, not hours.

This role is best suited for professionals who think long-term and are comfortable building before seeing returns.

Why This Role Is Different

You won't be on the sidelines. You will:

  • Work directly on real transactions with real business owners.
  • See how deals actually come together, not just how they look in a model.
  • Build a repeatable, personal system for origination and execution.
  • Develop skills that compound, whether you stay in advisory, move into acquisitions, or build something of your own.

Mentorship

You will work directly with Murali Barathi, M&A advisor and former business owner, with exposure to real transactions, real decision-making, and the kind of pattern recognition that only comes from doing the work.

You'll have a front-row seat to how owners build, grow, value, acquire, and exit businesses.
