The Opportunity
We’re looking for a mid-career professional ready to run the full lifecycle of lower middle-market M&A transactions — from sourcing and positioning to execution and close.
This is a hands-on, high-ownership role. You won’t be reviewing decks in the background. You’ll be working directly on live deals, engaging with business owners and buyers, and building repeatable systems that drive outcomes.
If you’ve spent 3–10 years developing real professional skills and want to apply them where it matters — inside actual transactions — this role was built for you.
What You’ll Own
- Deal Origination— Identify, qualify, and develop new transaction opportunities across target industries (SaaS, Manufacturing, Construction, Medical Devices, A&D, Semiconductor, Wholesale & Distribution)
- Financial Analysis & Valuation— Analyze financial statements, build valuation models, and assess deal viability
- Confidential Information Memorandums (CIMs)— Develop positioning materials that tell the right story to the right buyers
- Buyer Engagement— Lead outreach to qualified buyers, manage communications, and drive interest through the pipeline
- Due Diligence & Execution— Support the transaction process from LOI through close, coordinating across buyers, sellers, and advisors
- Systems & Process— Help build and improve internal systems for deal sourcing, tracking, and execution
Who This Role Is For
You bring 3–10 years of professional experience — in finance, operations, consulting, business development, or a related field — and you’re looking for something more direct. More real.
You’re a strong fit if you:
- Understand financial statements and can work through a valuation without hand-holding
- Have exposure to valuation methods (DCF, comps, market-based approaches)
- Think like an operator — you want to know how businesses actually work, not just how they look on paper
- Are curious about Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA) or have considered buying or building a business yourself
- Are comfortable with ambiguity, learning new tools, and building processes from scratch
Strong Plus
- California DRE license — or willingness to obtain one
- Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, agentic AI and modern automation tools used in deal workflows
- Prior exposure to M&A, transaction advisory, or business brokerage
Compensation
This is not a traditional salaried position. Compensation is performance-driven with meaningful upside tied directly to closed transactions.
- Earnings are built through pipeline development and participation in deal outcomes
- The structure rewards results, not hours
This role is best suited for professionals who think long-term and are comfortable building before seeing returns.
Why This Role Is Different
You won’t be on the sidelines. You’ll:
- Work directly on real transactions with real business owners
- See how deals actually come together — not just how they look in a model
- Build a repeatable, personal system for origination and execution
- Develop skills that compound — whether you stay in advisory, move into acquisitions, or build something of your own
Mentorship
You’ll work directly with Murali Barathi —M&A advisor and former business owner— with exposure to real transactions, real decision-making, and the kind of pattern recognition that only comes from doing the work.
